Longwood, Florida – Tourist Destination

Longwood is an upcoming tourist destination with unique things to see and do. It is located just a short drive away from world-class attractions in Orlando.

The community was founded by E.W. Henck in 1877. He owned the sash, door, and blind factory in Longwood FL.

Longwood is home to Seminole County Public Schools. The city’s West Branch Library is a great place to read and play with your kids.

1. Best Used Books

One of the few used bookstores in the area, Best Used Books is a book nerd’s dream. The shop boasts a carefully selected collection of treasured classics and signed first editions. They also accept donations, which can be used as credit for future purchases!

The owners say teachers have been dropping off thousands more books than usual this summer due to concerns about book bans.

2. Acme Superstore

Acme Superstore is a one stop shop for vintage comics, toys and memorabilia. It is located in the heart of downtown Longwood and is one of the top comic book stores in the area. They have everything from old school stuff to the latest pop culture collectibles. Their customer service is great and they have aisles of nostalgia for all ages. They also host autograph signings with some of the biggest names in comics.

3. West Branch Library

West Branch Library is a library in the Seminole County Public Library system. It is located in a residential area of Longwood and occasionally hosts seminars on local topics and children’s fairs and shows. The location lends a large selection of popular adult fiction and nonfiction books. The library also offers public internet computers. There are five catalog and online resource computers as well as six public internet computers in the children’s section.

4. Longwood Parks & Recreation

The therapeutic recreation program embraces academic and societal trends. It is based upon the philosophy that all persons, regardless of any specific characteristic, have an inherent right to, and need for leisure experiences with opportunities for expression.

Big Tree Park is located on the beautiful General Hutchison Parkway between US 17-92 and State Road 427 in Longwood. Visitors will enjoy a lakeside view with 66 sites for tents or RVs, swimming beach and picnic shelter.

The school district is a top choice for families with children in Longwood. The district’s schools have been ranked by Niche as some of the best in Florida.

7. Longwood Community Center
